Meet the Team
Dedicated & Certified
My Name is Samnatha Aird and I am the Manager of Kidzone South. My background is in national and international equestrian training & coaching, but I made the switch to child care in 2017. I am excited and proud to carry on my family's 33 year legacy of quality childcare here in Tsawwassen. When I'm not at daycare you can find me playing with my horses in Ladner.
My Name is Amanda Fernandes and I am the Head Teacher at Kidzone South. I was born in Ladner B. C. and currently live there now. I graduated high school from Delta Secondary and immediately went to CDI College to complete my Early childhood Education. I have a passion for early learning, especially enriching young minds through play and mindful experiences. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, keeping active and travelling.
Miss Ava was born in Shangai, China and came to Vancouver in 1995. She’s been in the ECE field since 2004 and has been working as an ECE-IT since 2006. She was an Infant and Toddler Centre Supervisor for years before her maternity leave. Miss Ava’s ideal of good child care is to provide all children attention, approval and affection. All children should be respected as an individual with their potential, interests and needs, and she understands each child develops at their own rate. Her mission as an caregiver and an educator is to enhance each child’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
Hi everyone.. I’m Miss Emily! Currently I work at Kidzone South as an after school teacher with the big kids. I have my ECEA and am currently studying to be an educational assistant while working towards becoming an elementary school teacher at KPU. I believe all children learn best through play- and love encouraging creativity while building bonds with others! During my free time I like going for walks with my dogs, cooking with friends and enjoying a latte or two. Can’t wait to meet you!
Hey everyone, my name is Miss Darby and I am in the big kids room here at Kidzone South. I am currently completing my ECE at the University of British Columbia and love having the opportunity to work with children and seeing them reach their full potentials. In my free time I like to hang out with my family and friends, take my new puppy to the beach and Deas Island to explore and enjoying a Tim Hortons ice cap. I look forward to meeting you all!
